CRICKET

Woolworths Cricket Blast

For kids new to cricket, Cricket Blast is a great program designed by Cricket Australia, with games and fast paced activities, for kids to have fun and learn this great sport. Kids participating will make friends, learn cricket skills, and experience being part of a team.

It’s designed for all boys and girls between 5 and 9 years old, wanting to lean core cricket skills and have fun in an inclusive, family friendly environment.

The Roosters Cricket Blast program runs for 10 weeks, starting in mid-October. Each session runs for approximately 90 minutes and is designed to get parents involved and spend quality time with their children.

No equipment is required. The program uses safe plastic bats and rubber cricket balls. The activities use bats and softer balls of different sizes, so all kids can participate and develop at their own pace.

To ensure the safety of all participants, we use plastic bats and rubber cricket balls. The activities use softer balls of different sizes, so kids can participate and develop at their own pace.

Our Cricket Blast program is a stepping stone to structured junior cricket matches, in our highly successful junior program.

Training

We train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Seddon Reserve, starting 6pm.

Social events

West Ivanhoe cricket is a very social club. We swap stories among players and members after a game, and hold a number of events throughout the season. We have a fully stocked bar and run frequent barbecues.

Veterans Cricket

West Ivanhoe runs successful Over 40s and Over 50s teams playing in the ECA. Both have won flags in the past several years but both mix a competitive on-field presence with a heavy emphasis on the social and after-game experience. Training on Thursday evenings before games at Seddon Reserve, followed by refreshments. Send us a mail if this sounds good!
